STUDENT HANDBOOK
CHILDREN'S SAFETY
Emergency School Closings
The school will be closed if
South Euclid-Lyndhurst and/or Easter Region Schools in the Cleveland
Catholic Diocese are closed. If there is an emergency affecting St.
Gregory the Great School only, parents will be notified by the room
parents/helpers or the school will be noted by name on the radio and
television. School closings will be reported as soon as possible. Please
do not call the rectory or the school to check if the school is closed.
School Supervision
The school provides supervision
from 8:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Before or after that time, students are to be
enrolled in the Extended Care program. Even though many of the teachers
are on the premises, this is their time for grade level meetings and
scheduled conferences with parents. Please, for the safety of your
children, do not drop the children off until 8:00 a.m.
Traffic Pattern
Parents dropping off or picking
up students should keep in a single file line on the playground side of
the school. For the safety of your children and our teachers, please be
patient and remind your child(ren) to be ready at dismissal to keep the
line moving. Cars are to leave the parking lot at a safe speed and are
not permitted to park on the sides of the church. If you must enter the
building to drop off/pick up a child, please park in a designated
parking spot and enter the building. Rushton Rd. is not to be used for
dropping off or picking up students. This is a bus zone only.

ability to learn and should be free to be educated in a
Christ-centered atmosphere. This environment is one
that
promotes mutual respect and is conducive to growth and learning.
Such an atmosphere affirms, supports, and witnesses to a loving
faith community. Therefore, the child’s behavior should show
a sense of self worth and respect for others.
