Support Groups

School Advisory Board

The School Advisory Board's stated purpose is to develop, define, and promote policies for the operation of the elementary school and to assist in the planning, development and promotion of the elementary school as a model of excellence in Catholic education. The School Advisory Board is a link of communication between parents, teachers, and the administration. It is comprised of seven voting members and two "ex officio" members, the Pastor and the Principal, who have no voting powers. School Advisory board meetings are open to the public.

The Board members research, review, and develop operating policies with input from the Administration. The areas specifically covered are finances and management, developing and reviewing the annual operating budget, developing and approving the school strategic plan, and reviewing and developing operating policies to further the school's interests.

Parent-Teacher Committee

The PTC is an independent body, self-governed by a five-member board.  The stated purpose of the PTC is to develop, promote and carry out activities to support and enhance the philosophy and programs of the school.  It sponsors school fund-raisers, the proceeds of which are used for various projects in the school, at the discretion of the PTC board.  A yearly membership fee is assessed per family.  Participation is strongly encouraged.  Monthly meetings are open to all parents and teachers of St. Gregory the Great school.


Athletic Club

The purpose of the St. Gregory the Great Athletic Club is to promote the ideals of community and family and to encourage student interest in the athletic programs of St. Gregory the Great School, particularly in CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) activities. In achieving this purpose, the focus will be on the child and his/her emotional, spiritual, and physical development.
